Help for Private Treatment Programs

Please keep in mind that we are not a rehab centre. However, we service Whistler residents by helping them find the right drug rehab in the private sector. Our referral counsellors have years of experience in the field. They have worked personally with families and addicted individuals on a one-to-one basis. That experience brought us knowledge.

You can stop your search for a Whistler drug rehab centre by calling us. We specialize in finding the right private treatment program for you or your loved one.

Public Access Options – Whistler Rehab Services

You may want a public access service. With that in mind, you can visit our Vancouver page or get contact information for your region. There are long wait lists in the public sector.

In some places, people can fast-track admission with a physician’s or a counsellor’s referral. Subsidized centres are a good choice when someone can hold off using for a few weeks. Many government centres require the person to be drug-free several days before admission to their program.

When You Call from Whistler

Calling us from Whistler will put you in contact with our referral counsellor. They will do an assessment over the phone. From your answers, they will determine the severity of addiction and be able to guide you.

This guidance can be toward the next step you can take with the person or a contact from an appropriate treatment centre. They will suggest the services best suited to the person you want to help. They can also keep a connection with you, if you wish until your loved one is in treatment. If the chosen centre doesn’t work out, another one can be suggested and contacted. We are independent agents. We do not represent any facility, which means we work for you, and we work across Canada.

You may want to research on your own. In the following paragraphs, a few guidelines may help you choose the right treatment program.

Most Common Rehab Types

Here are some of the most common types of rehab you can find in Canada.

Long-Term Programs

A person who has a long-standing addiction with years of abuse or a person who relapsed after a short-term program would both benefit from a long-term residential program.

Short-Term Programs

A person whose addiction just started spiraling out of control would be a good candidate for a short-term program. It offers a supervised environment with experienced staff.

Available Treatment Services for Whistler

Some people may not need a residential drug or alcohol rehab centre. Others might need long-term rehabilitation. Options also depend on the drug of choice, addiction length, and severity.

Medical Detox

A long-time heavy “drinker” would most likely need this service. Detoxing from alcohol and certain other drugs like benzodiazepines can be complicated and physically demanding. You can find more on this process here.

Residential Rehab Programs

One could need a 30-day or 60-day residential program. Depending on the addiction stage, some individuals may find a structured environment more fruitful. Also, most private drug rehabs have detox integrated. You can read more on these types of rehabs here.

Outpatient, Addiction Counselling or Coaching

When one sees their control slipping away but still functioning in everyday affairs, an addiction counsellor or a day or evening program (outpatient) can be enough to help. Find out more about this here.

Intervention: Talking About Rehab

When an individual fails to recognize their addiction, it can rapidly become nightmarish, with arguments and heated discussions. In cases where the situation is not immediately life-threatening, you can address it with patience and tact. See the following articles on “How To.”

On the contrary, in severe situations where time is of the essence, it is recommended to enlist the assistance of a professional interventionist. Please note that within the private sector, many rehabs have intervention services.

Help is Available in Whistler

The main point to keep in mind is time. Adding unnecessary time to this issue by putting it off and waiting until some better moment arrives will not help. It increases the chance of relapse and further degradation for the person and your family. So, please call us for help in BC.
